Yummy Sprouts — vigorous growth!
update: I’ve grown about 2/3rds of the bag now. I’ve lost count of how many batches that is. everything continues to be super yummy and no problems. I am now using 64oz mason jars and growing about 2 batches per week. I put 60ml of seeds in a 64oz jar which is about 3 heaping tablespoons and this amount is just right.this was my first time growing sprouts and it was a great success. very easy to do, very tasty result. I got interested in sprouts for health reasons, but I think I will continue to grow them just because they make a great snack. it is much better to munch on a handful of sprouts than a handful of crackers or chips and the sprouts taste really good — cheaper too.I have read that broccoli by itself can be a pretty intense flavor, perhaps too strong. but this mix of kale and broccoli works very well for me, my mom liked it too. I don’t think I’d want it any stronger than this. clearly the rainbow people have put a lot of thought into their mixture.I would describe the flavor as similar to a mild spicy brown mustard. but don’t get too hung up on that description, it’s just an attempt at how to describe something that is fairly unique. if you like mustard you definitely will like this, but if you don’t like mustard you may still like this…this was my first time sprouting, I used the mason jar approach. soak for 8 hours … by 6 hours there was already visible sprouting. then rinse 2 or 3 times per day for about 5 days — oh, yes and on the last day (or 2) expose to sunlight. my growing temperature was low 70’s for most of the time.I used 1 TBSP in a 32 oz jar and by day 6 when I harvested them the jar was basically full despite a few nibbles along the way. I would not put more than 2 TBSP into a 32 oz jar, it will be much to crowded to sprout properly.I have read that many people think that floating seeds won’t sprout. so I was a bit concerned when about a 3rd of the seeds were floating. well ~floating seeds not sprouting~ turned out to be a myth, in fact some of the seeds were visibly sprouting while floating. with a jar full of vigorous sprouts I did not bother to search for unsprouted seeds among the husks but it looked like it was close to 100% germination.also Rainbow Heirloom Seed sent me a really nice letter (email), they clearly care about their seeds and want to help people to successfully sprout them, the letter gave links to how-to guides on their website and an offer of tech support if needed. — you buy a multi-thousand dollar computer and the company won’t even give you the time of day, but you buy a $20 bag of seeds and you get lessons and tech support. amazing…what else is there to say? try it you’ll like it… :-)disclaimer: I paid full price for these seeds and no one tried to influence me. taste is subjective and personal, just because I like the flavor of something doesn’t mean that you will, Your Actual Mileage May Vary.I rely heavily on the reviews of others, if you found this review helpful please give it a like so that I know you read it. thanks. and thank you for reading it!

This is a high quality Sulforaphane SPROUTING Seed Mix.
Sulforaphane has been extensively studied for its cancer prevention and cancer fighting abilities and properties. I am not a Dr. so do your own research. I use a cup of these sprouts in my daily veggie smoothie.Health tip for this product If you are mostly interested in the sulforaphane health benefits:For maximum sulforaphane absorption sprinkle mustard seed into the smoothie. The mustard seed makes the sulforaphane instantly available. The other option without using mustard seeds is to chop up the sprouts and let them sit for 25 minutes before eating.

Sprouts
They taste good but the % of sprouted seeds was disappointing

I get a good quantity of sprouts in 4-5 days.
I get a large amount of sprouts in 4-5 days from 2 tablespoons of seeds in the mason jar. Pro tip I picked up from YouTube, no need to cover them or put them in a dark cabinet for the first few days. Pics I uploaded are from leaving the jar out on the kitchen counter the entire time. Also, use a wire strainer spoon like in my pic instead of a mesh strainer spoon with smaller holes. The mesh takes forever to try and get the seed hulls out, and you never fish them all out. Dump clumps of sprouts into the mesh spoon, hold it under the faucet and it will wash out many of the seed hulls. I have never tasted/crunched seed hulls that are left using this method.

Doesn’t Sprout Well
This mix doesn’t sprout well and its yield is very low. I half suspect that the kale seeds are all dead. I’ve tried this mix twice and have been disappointed each time. This brand’s plain broccoli seeds sprout much better, faster, and stink far less.

worked well for sprouts
I am sure there is variance from batch to batch but I had a good fraction sprout from my bag. Some people are claiming lack of sprouts and I had luck so here is my process in case it helps others:1.) clean and dry a mason jar and plastic lid for sprouting2.) put in one tablespoon of seeds in pint jar (or scale as needed)3.) soak for 10 minutes in a cup of water with a tiny drop of soap and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to clean the seeds4.) rinse the seeds until the soap bubbles are gone5.) rinse two more times after step #36.) completely soak for 8-12 hours7.) completely drain8.) rinse 2-3 times a day until ready to goThis gives me 1.5 cups of sprouts usually. The taste of these are a bit bitter but that is to be expected. I had one batch go smelly but I had forgotten to do the 10 minute wash up front so my fault. I use R/O water for mine. Good luck!

Excellent Product!
I am thrilled with these sprouting seeds. The sprout rate was very good. On the first try, I just used a mason jar with a screened lid. after soaking for about 12 hours and draining the jar, the seeds started to sprout soon. I rinsed the seeds daily and in about 3-5 days there was some nice green growth on the little plants. The taste is delicious…..feels very healthy!
