Quality Refresher, but Mental Approach > Tricks for Experienced Travelers
As someone that is as frugal with vacations as can be, a subscriber to Scott’s Cheap Flights for more than 4 years, I’m not going to lie that almost all of the book was information that I had gleaned from the years of researching into how to travel effectively. Especially as someone that loves churning credit cards, it comes with the hobby and a lot of flight savings are not too controllable, as he goes well into detail. However, the mentality of approaching cheap flights (where he goes into detail as to how to plan vacations rather than plan to find a glitch in the major airline’s price armor), and how cheap flights let you change your entire perception on travel + free time, is what mattered most. Sometimes we need a gentle reminder that traveling is a lot more feasible than we’d like to admit and how there’s cheap flights everywhere; which I found this book extremely useful for as it forced me to waste less time looking for deals and also appreciating the fact I have so many tools at my disposal. Even with small price differences by “saving strategies”, he mentions how the potential headaches can highly outweigh the minimal saving costs you finesse, with a lot less forgiveness too.For someone that’s fairly new to flight research or just wants to travel more/cheaper, this book is as good as it gets for a breakdown into why cheap flights can be extremely accessible and very life-changing in terms of travel. It goes through everything necessary, recommends tools and even “competitors” in travel-hacking to ensure that you get as well-rounded of an approach to the game as possible. He clears up misconceptions, doesn’t oversell his accomplishments and even makes sure to explain why his email subscribers enjoyed saving money–rather than just saying “they saved $2300 just by buying my service and you can too!!!” like most charlatans.I don’t reach much advice or lifestyle books and while I initially came into this thinking I’d unlock some secret passage of airlines that have been hidden, I cannot be happier than the cheap book pricing for a great breakdown and guide of cheap flights. Simply understanding why airlines do what they do, the fine print that usually gets glazed over, and why sometimes “discounts” can be a price trap, are all extremely useful in approaching flight monitoring more quickly and with less stress. My only initial complaint was that the book printing was a bit askew with text on left pages (slight annoyance but the book is still very cheap) and I briefly thought that I should have bought the Kindle version. But I realized I could easily share this to any others that need a introduction into this world for less than $20. All this adds up to me saving plenty of time and worries in my future travels, worth much more than the simple charge of this paperback. Cannot recommend more highly to new and experienced travelers!

Great read for the “travel agent” of the group.
Great book! I am considered the “travel agent” from my group of friends but still have so much to learn. It was a great read, especially if you love to travel or love to play travel agent for family and friends. I read a negative review that said this book had some already known things so I went in with a bit of skepticism. There are over 15,000 books about Abraham Lincoln. Does that person feel they should have stopped after 1? I thought Scott did a great job explaining the ins and outs of booking flights. Explaining the myths and misconceptions. There is no crystal ball to show when a flight will go down in price. Scott does a great job finding those prices for me! Scott how dare you advertise your company in your OWN book! Keep up the great work man! It is because of your dedication to find cheap flights that I was able to go to Australia, Dubai and Croatia. I live paycheck to paycheck so people like Scott help make traveling the world doable! Can’t wait for book #2!

Good Beginner Book to Begin Travelling the World for Cheap
I’ve been a subscriber to Scott’s Cheap Flights for years and pre-ordered this book with great anticipation, and I was not disappointed. The author goes into depth regarding the importance of vacationing more, how to do it by finding cheaper flights, and how now is the time to do it. He also touches on related subjects like the sustainability of flying and the history of commercial flying in the US.Those with experience in cheap flying, points/miles flying, or traveling, in general, may not find any particularly amazing tips or tricks in this book. In fact, the author uses a lot of repetition and examples to make his points, sometimes in multiple chapters. While this can make the book a bit boring at parts for seasoned travelers, it can also make it an easy and interesting read for beginners. It is worth the price for those interested in vacationing more with cheaper fares.

Wow! Scott has all the tips you need for cheap travel–and a great philosophy to boot!
As a seasoned world traveler, I enjoyed reading Scott’s book very much. This guy knows it all! The book has the best tips on how to master cheap travel, and to get more out of your travel budget far and wide. I found his tips on points vs miles redemption as an eye opener. He talks about acing business class travel as well. It’s worth every penny of your money, this book. And he makes a strong case for signing up for his Cheap Flights email list, whether the basic or advanced option. Thanks, Scott. And your story about Anya was just wonderful!

Fantastic book that’s worth the read! It will change the way you think about travel
No matter how much (or little) you have traveled, you will get something from this book. I have traveled to almost 40 countries and still got a lot out of reading it. I literally couldn’t put it down and finished reading it in less than a day. The “Flight First Method” really changed the way I look at planning travel. Moreover, Scott’s mindset around travel and some of the lessons he shared got me to re-live the catalog of trips I have taken and to think back fondly on all the awesome international experiences I have had. More than his perspectives, I like how Scott provided good context/background information and tied the concepts to credible studies, showing how his insights were more than just opinions, but real truths. Definitely worth reading!

My vacation juices are flowing just reading this book; Must read if you enjoy vacations….
I got my book yesterday, and I have read the first 60 pages. If the first 60 pages were all of the book, it is already worth the money. Scott has opened my eyes to vacation psychology, travel destinations, and the quivers in my bag for finding cheap travel. It was almost like Scott was inside my head during his writing — “What does Eric want/need to know?” I have already promised my book (when I am finished) to my neighbor who loves to travel and to my sister who travels often and is planning a Greece trip in 2022.Eric PerdewGreensboro, NC

    Not worth it.
