Is this the new Teflon?
Very high quality 11” fry pan. You do have to install the handle (this is a packaging cost savings measure) – the process is very simple. They even supply the screwdriver. From the look and feel of the pan itself – I am quite impressed with the quality. According to the literature, this product is the result of a unique manufacturing process that “creates an ultra hard, rock like surface” that purports to have “extended durability, enhanced scratch and wear resistance, enhanced even heat distribution and exceptional non stick capabilities.”Well, I can say that the rock like surface truly is unique and has a distinctive look and feel. Not exactly sure if it is a different form of Teflon? I do still add a bit of cooking oil just to make sure foods, ie eggs, meat, etc don’t stick. Seems to work quite well. Although our oven is gas, we also have an induction cooktop and it works well there as well. It is also oven safe up to 320 degrees.There are some cooking warnings – such as only using this pan on low or medium heat as high heat may damage the surface. Curious as to what temp would be considered “high temp?” Also, it states to never heat the pan empty – always make sure to have some oil, liquid, butter or food. It also warns to avoid adding salt to the pan unless it has water that has come to a boil as the salt can damage the surface as it heats up. Further it warns against cutting anything in the pan, or using metal utensils – silicone or wooden utensils are recommended.As for performance, it seems to work well. Used for eggs, bacon, and pan frying meats and it all worked out well. Clean up is easy – handwashing is recommended. All in all, nice pan, but the question remains…is this just the new Teflon?

Finally got a non-stick pan that works. It’s easy to set up in a minute! It’s great to fry dumplings with and the pieces are separate and don’t stick together! Cleaning up is also very simple water a paper towel a wipe clean!
