Amazing! Love It
I bought this product to enhance my audio quality on my YouTube channel and product reviews. It is the perfect size for a Blue Yeti that sits on top of a desk/table. I have yet to mount my blue yeti. Maybe in the near future. The metal is thin, but high quality. My audio sounds cleaner and crisper. The audio I am sure is determined also by the mic quality and other accessories you might have to insulate audio. I only use a pop-filter and now the shield. It is easy to expand the shield and store away. The insulation is thick and does a great job of absorbing audio. Overall, I am very impressed by the quality, design, and value of the microphone shield.

Works As Advertised
This is a nice little unit from Tonor that blocks sound reflections from the equipment rack, monitor, and wall directly behind it. However, it is not designed to block reflections from elsewhere in the studio, nor does it — so I am adding acoustical foam on those spots.Be advised that there are some issues with the mounting hardware:1) The screw adapter shown at the red arrow in photo 1 was not listed as a part online or in the accompanying instructions. Fortunately it was included because it is required to mount the acoustic baffle onto the 5/8″ male thread on my mike boom.2) Unfortunately, however, the capped black cylinder that suspends the mike terminates in a 3/8″ male thread instead of a 5/8″ male thread necessary to screw into the 5/8″ female Audio Technica mike suspension mount. This required me to spend a few bucks on a chrome 3/8″ female to 5/8″ male adapter (shown at the green arrows in both photos). It’s a minor quibble, but I advise potential buyers to check the thread size on their mike stands to see if it compatible with the included hardware. I was surprised because a 5/8″ thread is standard with microphone mounts — at least in the USA. Perhaps this item was intended to be used with the Tonor mike shown in the ads.It would be nice if the online ad gives the thread specifications. Still, I recommend this mike baffle, even if you need to buy the extra adapter to make it work for you. Some reviews here suggest contacting Tonor about this or any other issue.

So far so good
I’ve been working with the Tonor Microphone Isolation Shield for about a week now. I actually really like the product as it does what it is described to do. I definitely can hear a better vocal in the mix than I did without it. It is a bit heavy (or makes the entire head heavy. The reason I am giving it a 4 and not a five is the way it is configured it’s not easy to use with a boom mic stand (unless I am doing something wrong). If it came with the different female/male mic holder or the shield holder it might’ve worked in this boom stand. I haven’t tried my other stands but took some photos so you could see. The appearance is professional looking and it certainly does its job.

Convenient Installation and Solid Construction
The TONOR Microphone Isolation Shield is bar none one of the best products of its type. It is easy to install as it has a universal mounting system. It even works with desk mounted boom arms. If using with a desk mounted boom arm realize this will add some weight to your set up. It actually is not a significant amount and my boom arm which is a Neewer NB-39 Adjustable 43.3″ adjustable scissor arm was able to take the weight and did not move when in use. The screen performs well and blocks much of the ambient noise in my room. This greatly increased my sound quality. The product itself was constructed very well! It is very solid and I was most impressed with the workmanship of the screen. I recommend this product for anyone looking for a low cost portable method of improving their sound quality.

Mounting bracket and hardware is junk. Doesn’t really do much to cut down on fan noise.
The little bracket they provide has holes and a slot that makes assumptions about the size of the mic stand / arm. My arm was smaller, so I had to pull out parts from some photo gear I had to get it to mount. The whole mount arrangement is clunky and not very stable. Also, there is no height adjustability of the mic mount w.r.t to the panel. 1 star for actual mounting hardware.Once I did get it mounted, I was hoping the functionality would be very good. The construction of the panel itself is nice and of good quality material. But unfortunately, it really didn’t help at all with ambient fan noise from my disk drives, which is why I bought it. I may be it is just too small. Overall, I don’t recommend it.

Works well
I purchased this to reduce echo as I was limited on the changes I could make to my office.Installation isn’t difficult but the instructions could have been easier to follow by using the name of the parts instead of the part numbers which meant I kept having to refer to the parts diagram (ie. “Mount the 6 onto the 7”).I am using a Snowball microphone and this didn’t work with my shock mount as the base couldn’t handle the distribution of weight would fall over.I was able to get it to work without the shockmount by being careful to adjust the tripod legs to distribute the weight evenly but I have to be careful not to accidentally bump it as it could easily fall over. While this is designed for a microphone that isn’t as wide as the Snowball, it still gets the job done and my sound quality is much improved with it.

It’s big enough and really works to isolate the mic
I needed something big enough to surround the microphone from the back and sides…this did the trick. I love the flexibility of the folding sides. It is well built and easy to install. Overall good value. Very pleased. It helps with my recording in my home studio where there is ambient noise from the HVAC system fan and just general stuff from people moving around in the rest of the house. I don’t want to have to wait for absolute silence, so this is a real help.

Matériel de qualité correcte. Par contre, un peu déçu de la dimension du matériel. En effet, celui-ci est trop petit pour abriter un micro type SM58 !

It’s very useful for home studios. The Metal construction is sturdy and nicely finished. Very helpful for avoiding the unnecessary noise.
