This camera lens is perfect for my Sony NEX 5n. I can get nice clear shots at a greater distance. You do have to use the manual feature of your camera, but I found it easy to use. It’s a great product for the price.

Clear focus with no vignette effect like I saw on cheaper telephoto lenses. Auto focus would be nice but this works well for the price! No complaints.

Difficult to focus and spotty
The Lens I received was difficult to focus and did not give clear images. There were three spots on every image in the exact same places that could not be resolved with cleaning of the lens. When using other lens there were no spots on images so it eliminated the potential of the camera being at fault. The quality of the Lens I received appeared to be poor.

Really great for what it is!
I bought this to OCCASIONALLY take pictures of the moon, and to take some pictures of the solar eclipse coming up. I do not need a dedicated telephoto lens most of the time, and this is perfect for that. That being said, be realistic about what you expect from this lens. Of course it doesn’t have any kind of onboard stabilization, so you will need a tripod, but that’s generally true of most telephoto lenses. The lens is very nearly literally dirt cheap, and your expectations should be based on that.That being said, I do have a few criticisms. The lens body itself does not mount to your camera, but uses an adapter. There is a cover for the camera side of the lens body, but not for the adapter. That means that if you want to cover the back end of the lens, you have to remove the adapter and store/pack it separately. I have no other use for this adapter, so it would be preferable for this to come with a back side cover. The screw in to the converter and adapter are solid though, and seem to be machined with really decent tolerances, which is niceIf you have only rare use for a telephoto or are just starting and don’t want to invest a ton just yet, I think this is a pretty solid lens to start on. I also think it’s lack of more advanced features actually makes it a better lens to learn on, and ultimately if you buy a nicer lens after this one, you’ll just appreciate that new lens even more.

Does the job
Do not use for safari rides since it needs to be very still, but if you have the time to get it on a solid surface (or tripod like me) it takes decent, not perfect, but decent pictures. I would tell my past self to invest in an actual lense, though.

You get what you pay for
I wanted to try this as it was 1/20th the price of the comparable lens I would need to get the zoom I wanted. The optics appear to be fairly good, although it will not be a tack-sharp image as the focus is a little too soft for my taste. You will also need a lot of light. With f/8 being the most open setting, I start off working with 1/20th of the light I am used to and the 2x zoom knocks that down to 1/80th of the light, which means you will need to be photographing in full sun or use a higher ISO. I had to go to ISO 5000 with a medium level of light for a shot that I would normally photograph at ISO 100. Also the 2x zoom lens dumped a crapload of dust on my sensor every time I used it, so I have had to clean the camera sensor several times. There doesn’t seem to be as much of a problem with the lens itself. Not very happy (especially with the 2x teleconverter) and let the buyer beware!

great for the price
I was pleasantly surprised the first time I used the lens. Got fantastic photos of the full moon. Only wish the adapter was smaller – doesn’t seem to be the same as the one in the photo. The one I received was metal and heavy. Make’s the lens even more cumbersome on my Sony a6000. But still, for the price, it can’t be beat.
