So glad I didn’t
Had I listened to some of the reviews I never would have purchased this! So glad I didn’t. My kitten loves this. It is sturdy, she is on it all the time. She sleeps on it, watches out the window, uses the scratch posts, and leaves my furniture alone. She only weighs 4 pound now, but I am sure that it will hold her when she is fully grown. I put it on a small table in front of the window and made two pieces of duct tape into double sided tape to keep it from sliding and it is her favorite place in the house. The string on the pom pom was very flimsy and broke right away, however I just put a heavier piece of string on it and stapled it (heavy duty staple) to the platform. I am totally pleased with this product. I am attaching 2 photos to give you an idea of the size.

Absolutely love it — and the cats do too!
Our cats went nuts for this thing. Not so much the little tower attached to it, but the arch is absolutely wonderful. The base piece of the arch under the material is so sturdy, that when the sisal mat was torn to bits by our cats I simply got some sisal rope and hot glued it on, wrapping it around to refurbish it. I used our staple gun to add stability, but I don’t think that’s crucial.In any case, we’ve loved it so much that I recently got another one. I had planned to disassemble it and throw it out, but upon removing the shredded sisal I found it could be restored once again. And now, while they use that one, I can refurbish the old one and it can be used again. (And to be honest, I’ll probably take that sisal mat off as soon as I have enough rope to replace it.TL;DR:Great item. Good price, I think. Can last years with minimal maintenance.

I’d give this more like a 4.5 for the following reasons. I priced these types of items from local pet stores and ouch! I’m not the kind of person who wants cat “furniture” in her home long term once our indoor kitten graduates to an indoor/outdoor life style.So the entry point price of these climbers at $60-70 seemed steep. This item was just the ticket for our needs. The ONLY problem with it was the dangling toy/puff came off on day one. We however were able to affiv a jingle ball toy we had to the string and our kitten was happy. Otherwise seems very sturdy. Over all happy with this at the price point and in relation to our temporary needs.

I bought this very affordable, cat approved and sturdy for the size, perch which is the 3rd one to be in our home (we already have a round one with an oval one side by side in our living room, which our sweet And chunky. Adult cat, Callie, spreads out on…)Placed at the foot of our bed for her to sleep on at night. She currently sleeps on a stack of 3 storage bins, with cushy towl and flannel topper.This is TOO SHORT, to fill our request.It is shorter than the other 2 we have.She is too big for it (I thought the bed part was oval.)I NEED TO RETURN IT but, the 30 day return window is closed, Although I didn’t open it up and assemble until about 2 weeks after it arrived, due to knee replacement surgery, I am a senior citizen.CAN I EXCHANGE FOR A TALLER AND OR OVAL ONE? UPDATE: i have now had multiple kittens get their leg stuck and they were screaming in pain as they were hanging upside down and their foot was twisted. IMO The post is too close to the arch and they get their legs caught while playing and jumping off the arch. Either drill another hole to move the post, don’t install the post, or avoid this scratcher all together. Already trashed the boxes so I’m unfortunately stuck with them but the posts will immediately be removed for now.I have a Ragdoll cattery and I’m always buying small scratchers for inside of the playpens. Something not too tall so they can’t hop out before being fully litter trained. These are the perfect height! I always got the arch scratcher from target as that is always a favorite with the kitties but saw these. I got the 2 pack. It’s mostly put together besides the post which is one screw. Will continue to buy these for the playpens. Appears to be well made and all the kittens are loving it just as much as my usual arch. They love running under it the arch.

My cat adores this thing …
I’ve bought so many 1-seat cat trees over the years, and this one has been the biggest hit for hanging out in. My senior cat loves it. I just bought a second one because it was on sale. (Both I bought when on sale.) Takes almost no time at all to put together, and is fairly sturdy. Not sure a big heavy cat would work with this, and it might be unsteady; but a smaller full-size cat, like mine, is fine.
