This hub looks good and works well for normal USB peripherals. I have a microphone and wired Ethernet plugged in for web meetings and don’t have any issues at all. It does have some trouble with a Ubikey though.

Still testing but my mouse dongle went wonky
I have a laptop sitting on a small laptop table in my livingroom. I play games, internet surf, play on social media etc while watching tv. One of the USB A ports on my Alienware stopped working and I have too many things plugged into one splitter. I have a fan, the mouse dongle and charge cable, my fitness watch charge cord and a laptop cooling mat. When I saw this USB C hub, I figured that would help with the load. I saw it as a free promotional and I ordered it. So, I have the laptop cooling mat plugged into it and I put my mouse dongle on as well. Both are USB A. The mat works fine but the mouse went wonky and wouldn’t track properly. I tried it on the port recommended by the vague instructions and moved it around looking for a better solution but eventually moved it back over to the splitter I have on the other side. I’m sure I’ll get some use out of it but for now it is only holding the laptop cooling mat. I’ll update once I’ve used it for other items.

Very nice multiport hub.
This is a multiport hub that includes 2x USB-A 2.0, 2x USB-A 3.0, 1x USB-C data, 1x USB-C 100W charging, 1x SD, 1x MicroSD, and 1x HDMI.This is solidly built with an aluminum chassis and looks nice as well. It has a decent heft and rubber feet, so it will stay put on your desk. The front panel is tilted about 30 degrees, making it much easier to access than if the ports were fully verticle or horizontal. It is a great alternative to fumbling around with hard-to-reach ports on the sides or back of your computer.It does its job perfectly well, but there are a few things you should know before purchasing it:* While it would fit in a computer bag, you would probably be better off with a more portable unit.* The 100W USB-C port is only going to work if you are connected to a USB-C port capable of that kind of output. Many desktops and older laptops only have USB-A ports, which are limited to about 15W output.* Two of the USB-A ports are only 2.0. Fine for mice and keyboards, but slow for data transfer.* The other two USB-A ports are USB 3.0, not 3.2.* There are only two USB-C ports, having 4 USB-C and 2 USB-A would have been more useful.* The SD and MicroSD ports are on the back, which is a little inconvenient.

Pretty Good Hub
Having tried a number of different hubs for laptops, this is definitely a hub that is worthy of sitting on a desk. The others are all ‘stick’ types that are great for travel, or even a ‘stand’ type that is meant to sit under the back of the laptop, like a pseudo docking station. Looks nice and shiny and matches well with Macs.Ok…aesthetics out of the way, the best part of this triangular hub is that all your USB ports are facing upwards and you can see/access them easily. The HDMI is on the back, where you’d assume that the monitor is located. Overall, so good. The memory card slots are also on the back, which I suppose is about the only place they could be to maximize space. Long data/power cable allows this to be set away from your laptop, which also means that if you want it close, you have to deal with a fairly thick cable.So what I wish this could have been better is if they offered two (2) USB-C/thunderbolt ports, for multiple devices. I’d prefer the power-in port to have been on the back or on the end opposite the jack to the computer, as it just clutters up the panel where the rest of your devices are plugging into.For some reason, this didn’t work with my Lenovo to plug in additional monitors via USB-C or HDMI. Maybe it’s just the monitors I was trying to use or maybe my Lenovo isn’t a fan of hubs/multiple monitors. It was fine for reading data off thumb/hard drives or even a plug-in DVD player, so I’m guessing it’s my Lenovo. No issues when used on a Mac.

This hub is solid and premium feeling. Itâs casing is made from aluminum and is quite thick. The USB-C cable is longer than average at about 18â and it has a couple rubber feet on the underside to prevent slipping. There is a green power indicator on the front when it is plugged into a device.The port selection is very good with a 100W PD 3.0 input, 2 USB2, 2 USB3, 1 USB-C, 1 4K HDMI out, a SD card port, and a MicroSD card port. I havenât had any issues with its use. File transfer and device connectivity with it has been perfect. I havenât noticed it get very warm either.What separates this hub from most is the design. While most hubs are a flat, rectangular designs with the ports on their edges, this is one is larger with the USB ports on an angled face aimed towards the user. The ports labels are easy to see like this and itâs easy to add/remove devices.This design seems a little better suited for desktop use where itâs not moved as much and where you need the ports more easily accessible. Thatâs not to say it canât be used for travel but it is a little bulkier than other options.Overall there is little to complain about with this hub. Itâs a great design that seems very well built and functions as you would expect without issues.

The intpw 9-in-1 USB Hub is different from most others in that it has a wedge shape and presents the jacks to you on your desktop.This is great for plugging and unplugging USB sticks and external drives. No need to reach behind a normal rectangular block hub.But the power in for the hub is also on the front so that cable also comes around the front. The monitor is on the back and so are the SD and micro SD card slots. Ideally the monitor and power in would be on the back and there would be a couple of USB-C and a couple of USB-A slots on the front along with a micro-SD card slot. But ideal is never found.The cable is longer than many hubs, which is great. It is not super flexible so it is difficult to get it to stay where you put it. You will want to use double sided tape to fasten the hub down on your desk.Functionally, everything works. You have to supply your own USB-C PD power source. The more power the better. 100 watts is recommended.My first impression was I really liked the wedge design, but on reflection, I prefer a 13 in 1 with connections on the back for power in, the USB for the mouse and keyboard and printer and with jacks on the front for USB sticks and drives and SD cards. But that is my preference. This unit is also slightly bigger than the 13 in 1 I usually use.It does work. I just have some preferences that differ.

Paired with a USB C extension cable, this has become a game changer when it comes to media on my computer.The USB Hub mirrors a desktop computer so well. There’s 2 USB A, 2 USB A 3.0, 2 USB C, an HDMI out and SD card readers. Since my Alienware desktops USB ports are all occupied, this makes my life so much easier.Primarily, I use the USB A ports for thumb drives and hooking up my phone, though periodically I use the HDMI port for an extra monitor and the USB C To charge my phone. This is limited to slow charging my phone, which takes around 3 hours.I only tested the HDMI at 1080p and it worked great. Even on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, it works well enough to extend the monitor without an external power source.Transfer speeds are typical. With just 1 USB stick connected, I was getting around 40mbps while uploading multiple photos.It’s small, and discreet. It doesn’t take up much space on my desktop. At the same time, it provides so many functions and brings all my USB ports right up to me, instead of behind far away and hard to reach.5/5 stars.

The actual build isn’t too bad with a good angle facing the user, but the rubberized foot closest to the cable wasn’t low enough to prevent the bottom front edge of the metal from sliding and potentially scratching the desk. Didn’t like that one bit so I had to add some more rubber tape on the bottom of both pads to raise it up a bit. Now it’s fine.As for the white plating around the ports and on both sides of the unit, it’s pretty cheap plastic which is OK since it cuts down on some of the weight; but it would’ve been nice if the entire housing were made of metal. Nevertheless, it’s still one of the heavier hubs I’ve held, and certainly one of the more convenient to access since the USB’s are used quite often and the SDs one the back seldom. A strange design choice was to put the PD port right next to the USB-C instead of on the back or side which would’ve made more sense. But like I said, I suppose ergonomics were more of a priority.As for data transfer speeds on the USBs (relative to their versions), they’re almost identical to the ones I’ve been using on my current small hub (good), so no significant increases in resistance. The HDMI port on the back also handles my HD monitor without issue; although I don’t have a 4K monitor to test its max capability. In terms of the SD readers….mediocre at best. Not sure why SD card readers on external hubs generally perform poorly, and this one is par for the course. It’ll certainly transfer data, but it’s slower than I’m used to.Overall though, I can’t say that it’s a bad hub at all. The 2.0’s aren’t exactly modern so that tech is slowly going the way of the dinosaur, and the fact that they only include one USB-C (which works WELL) is a bit limiting. Fortunately the aesthetics are nice and clean (once you raise the feet up a bit with some rubber tape) and the HDMI can certainly support an HD monitor. At the same time, there are hubs out there with 2 or 3 HDMI ports, a thick PD cable and adapter and USB-C ports exclusively that are more likely to stand the test of time. Might be better to go with one of those and invest in some cheap USB-A female adapters for the C ports. Just a suggestion. This hub is really middle-of-the-road.

This is a perfect solution if you use you laptop as a desktop computer at home and only have the desktop, no underneath spaces, to use. While it looks great and works perfectly, I would make a design change: put the power input on the back and have 2 USB C data ports facing up. Power and HDMI are always connected on my desktop, so it would be nice to have the power input hidden around back with the HDMI. A minor point really as it looks great and works as advertised. Cheers.
