I decided to give this a spin after I was doing some videography/animation work. I wanted a microphone that could at least capture my voiceover materials. It was pretty easy to use – basically plug and play. And. . .if anything it was even stronger than I expected. I got all the recordings I would need, and oddly. . .it also just looks very pretty while in use. Not particularly relevant or useful, but still. . .pleasing.If i ever do move more towards streaming, I’m sure this would be the microphone I would use, and compared to other microphones, it certainly isn’t unreasonably prices. Overall, a nice piece of equipment that is very easy to use.

MRSDY USB Microphone is pretty nice. It’s made nearly entirely from plastic, the exception being a metal windscreen, which makes it very lightweight, and it’s rather small in size. The USB cable is an attached wire into the base of the microphone itself. If you bend the microphone down towards the cable side, it will come pretty close to the base where it plugs in. Long term, that will cause the wire to have a permanent bend. Just, you know, tilt it the other direction.The volume/gain controls are just a large dial on the front of the mic. It works very well. It was much better than I anticipated, and much better than several mics I have. Very surprising for such a small little mic. A very deceiving appearance.On the bottom of the mic, surrounding the power plug, there are two buttons. One is for mute and the other is the noise reduction feature. The noise reduction worked pretty well. My room is frequently quite warm, and I run at least two fans constantly. One quite close to my laptop and microphone. I couldn’t hear the fans when I switched it on. So, again, a very surprisingly powerful feature. With that button discussed, let me talk about the mute button. I hate it. I hate mute buttons. You hear a loud click when they’re pressed. Now, if you’re muting the mic through software, obviously it isn’t a problem. If you’re muting by button pressing, people are going to hear it. Not a deal breaker, obviously, but I find it annoying personally.There is a very tiny switch used to turn on and off the LEDs for the mic. The lights run on a constant rainbow color rotation at an alright pace. It’s not too bright either, so it shouldn’t hurt eyes in a dark room.I’m not a singer, so I can’t comment on how it would hold up for singing.Overall, it’s quite a nice microphone. A solid 4.5 for me, but we can’t do halves here, so I’m rounding up.

I ordered this because a friend who hosts a radio show was not able to make it to the radio station due to illness. This microphone allowed the show to be recorded from home. No one could tell it wasn’t coming directly from the radio station. It passed the professional test!It’s also simple to use.
