First, I have been purchasing Vega products since they came out on the market, and I am a huge fan of Brendan Brazier who is a co-founder (I highly recommend his first book, THRIVE the vegan nutrition guide to optimal performance in sports and life – – I’ve had it for years, and I still use it as a reference).
BUT, a) I agree with the person who commented about the waste of plastic – the tubs are nearly twice as big as the contents they hold, and the plastic is needlessly thick. It literally hurts me to buy new tubs of protein powder; it’s just so environmentally irresponsible not to come up with a recycled paper bag option or even a recycled cardboard tub option (I would prefer the bag) b) I bought the chocolate flavor and am now “suffering” through it (contrary to what others say, I don’t feel it’s chocolatey at all). The vanilla is their best flavor and I suspect their best seller. However, all of their flavors are too sweet; imho they could cut back on the stevia by about half. c) @ VEGA: PLEASE OFFER AN UNFLAVORED & UNSWEETENED VERSION… and perhaps think about dropping the price a few dollars (!)

I purchased this for my vegan friend who does 100 mile running races. He absolutely loves it. He literally drinks it every single day. He likes the texture, smell, consistency, mix ability, consistency and flavor. He adds various fruit to it in the blender, often with MCT oil. I know he’s telling the truth because he’s been using this brand product for over a year and he’s a very particular person. You’d have to be, to run that far!

I got the big canister this time, because I hate running out at the end of the month. I am lactose intolerant and on the keto diet (low or no carb). Other products have lactose or have a high carb content. This was the winner. I pair it with unsweet almond or coconut milk and water. I take half a shake at breakfast, and the other half at lunch, that way the few carbs are burnt before my workout in the evening. This keeps me in a good ketosis range. Great taste! Not too sweet.
